Brandenburg Mini-documentaries

Made during the recent series of concerts in Köthen (possibly the location for the premiere of the Brandenburg Concertos) here is a three-part series of documentaries. They aim to examine (briefly) the history and music of this great set of works which was performed as part of the Monteverdi ensembles' Residency at Spitalfields Music in December 2008 and January 2009. John Eliot Gardiner led the English Baroque Soloists and the Monteverdi Choir in performances of JS Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, Brandenburg Concertos and Motets. Every concert was well received by public and press alike, with standing ovations from the sell-out audiences and high critical acclaim. Please click here to read the reviews from the performances.

The English Baroque Soloists have now recorded the Brandenburg Concertos (for the first time) at two concerts in Paris in January this year.
