PILGRIMAGE TO SANTIAGO WINS EDISON AWARD (29 May 2008)

The winners of the 2008 edition of the prestigious Edison Awards were announced yesterday, with the SDG album Pilgrimage to Santiago the winner in the "Middle Ages and Renaissance" category.

The Edison is the oldest and most prestigious Dutch music prize, having been established since 1960, and awarded to albums of special quality decided by an independent Jury. The ceremony will be televised in Holland on 12th June, and an extensive interview with Sir John Eliot Gardiner will appear in the next issue of Luister magazine.
